If you are referring to the cable then buy the K+DCAN from one stop electronics. It is little expensive than ebay cable but it is more reliable.

has anyone made a cheat sheet for the E70. I have an F30 and there are cheat sheets for that one. But i cant find one for my wifes E70. When i say cheat sheet, i mean a sheet with all the locations and options there are to code the car.

Hey all,

pulled theFSW_PSW.MAN file
Browsing through it I noticed:

Blah_blah_blah (forgot the "title"):
6_gaenge.

Considering I have a 2012 X5 LCI (e70_n55) and have 8 Gaenge ( 8 speed gearbox), shouldn't this say 8_gange?

Can someone just check their man-file and confirm the same?

Thanks

But that's not what I read out of:
GETRIEBE_GAENGE
6_gaenge

No mention of LIMP-MODE

I don't feel any limp mode on my car that's for sure.

Posted this over at bmwcoding newbie thread, but I thought this might be a better spot since I'm dealing with an E70.

I downloaded the "BMW coding all-in-one kit", which looks like a great comprehensive package of files that are needed for coding. However, it looks like it's at least 6-12 months old, since it didn't have anything newer than SP Daten v46 for my E70. I was able to find the full 10GB v47.1, which I think is recent enough to code my 2012 E70. Questions:
1. which files do I need from that large download and where do I move them to?
2. in the instructions I read everywhere, there is always a step that says "update your NCSE to match you daten files" or some such. then they provide a link to a wiki on this site that doesn't appear to be active to indicate HOW to do this. Without that wiki I guess I'm dead in the water. Could someone describe how to update NCSE to match my daten files?

Thanks in advance.

search for laden.bat within the daten folder and run that. There are a couple of other directories that you need to copy over manually as well.

Successfully coded my E70

Awesome, got it all figured out. Just coded the windows close function with the key fob. I've got a lot of reading to do to figure out how to continue coding additional things without losing what I've already coded. I really want to do the DVD in motion as well, and I understand the best way to do that is before everything else since it'll wipe the rest.

Is v47.1 dates recent enough to get all the modules for a 2012 E70?

At least, here in Costa Rica, no, according to them there is no relation between a code and warranty issues, in fact my car is fully retrofitted with idrive, 8.8 display, internet, BMW live etc, is also a X5 3.5i 2013, and I already claimed several warranties as the brake actuator, autoleveling xenons etc without any issues, the only problem is that they will flash the whole car and comes back to the standard code so you have to recode it again.

Just got my new 2013 X5 35i P xDrive and already want to program things. Such as mirror auto folding on door lock/ulock DVD in motion and some other annoying things. Can some one point me in the right direction to get started ? Like what cable I need where to download things and how to start ?

Thanks in advance

Good luck, you have to be patience and read a LOT before trying to do something, moderators on that forum are very tough, so do not open threads like.. "how can I code..." first read all the Sticky threads for beginners and you will be amazed of how much info you can get.

I'm having trouble getting access to everything on bmwcoding, is there a reason for this? I've tried to code last year, and gave up.. thinking to try again. Do you have a link to this kit? Also, does anyone know if its possible to code for bmw live?

Go into the daten folder within the E70 folder. There is a file called laden.bat, you will need to run that to update the daten files. There folders and instructions can be found here
