Dial in/out more understeer/oversteer

Here's an interesting article I came across on how to dial in/out more understeer/oversteer.

Lots of good stuff on suspension, steering and braking in Carol smith's book "tune to win".

I'm half way through but will post a review soon.

I've also read his "race to win" which helped me considerably while I was taking two Skip Barber courses a few years back.

Sadly, Carol passed away this past year.

Ed, I'm looking forward to your review of the book. Thanks.

What "Race to Win" book would that be? He never wrote one called that.

Prepare to Win
Tune to Win
Drive to Win
Engineer to Win
Nuts, Bolts, Fasteners and Plumbing Handbook
Carroll Smith's Engineer in Your Pocket

Those are the six he wrote. I've read four of them (only skimmed "Nuts, Bolts" and don't have "Engineer in Your Pocket"). All good stuff, but some info is a bit out of date now.

He's probably thinking of another book...but I can't think of the author right now. It's in my collection.

It was "drive to win", sorry.

A great book, btw.

Yes, "tune to win" is a bit dated (it dates back to 1978, I think), but anytime I can study diagrams of suspensions and roll centers and such, I'm a happy man
