Receiving the following message

Wife calls me at work to tell me that the a/c is not working properly (great- it's only 97 degrees here) and that there is a message stating the following:

"Battery discharging while stopped. Electrical devices temporarily shut off."

Anyone else ever get this message? If so, what was the diagnosis?

Thanks

I got it once. Have only had the car a couple of weeks. I thought it was a warning that I was using to much of the battery with the car shut off so I did not take any action.

Car only has 9800 miles since I bought it new in March 2012. Strange thing is that the fan speed for the A/C was only turning at its lowest speed no matter what level I changed it to. This morning, still received the same message and the fan speed was back to nornal.
I dropped it off at the dealer this morning.

Just spoke with the SA and the battery is weak. Too weak to do a diagnosis so it's being recharged. Hopefully, in 1 hour they can start to see what the problem is. He's blaming it on the short trips I take in the morning to the park/ride. I think it's BS.

Short trips can do it, you just need to take the car out every weekend for a long highway cruise.
