Hueco Ignition Coils??

I'm looking to get a couple new coils for my 2001 530i and I came across some Hueco coils at $46 a piece including the spark plug boot. Has anyone used this brand or know anything about It's quality

Thanks

Buy and try. We on this forum tend not to stray from known products. Perhaps you can enlighten us as to the quality of these coils.

So it's not a known product? That's making me think twice about buying them now. I was hoping someone here could let me know if they were a good buy or not.

Never heard of them. Honestly, you can get OE Bosch for $50 w/o boot from RockAuto, so I wouldn't risk it given the cost savings, IMHO.

Yeah me neither that's why I asked. I've been looking all over and I've only managed to find one or two websites that have that brand. It's also spelled HUCO on some sites, so I'm not exactly sure which is the correct one. I would feel a lot more comfortable with Bosch, I'm just desperate to get these parts on my hands asap.

AutoZone should have them in stock.

Desperate? Like you have a coil that has failed currently?

If that is the case, go to your local autozone or o'reilly's and get one of those. They are $80, but it will hold you over until you get your Bosch in the mail. Then take your auto part store one out and swap it out with the Bosch. Then when the next one fails (and they will at this age) you'll have a back up. And usually when you buy from a retail store they have a lifetime warranty and generally no way to test them (in my experience) so if you say it's bad they don't want the hassle and will just replace it.

I just found a BMW junk yard around my area and they've got new and used Bremi and Bosch coils. Thanks for the input guys!

New at a junkyard?!

I was about to say re: used coils, unless you are getting them at an AMAZING price, you are just on borrowed time...

The used go for $25 a piece, new are $65. I know I'll eventually have to replace them with brand new ones, I just need something to get me around town until I buy new ones.

Always check this list first for electrical items:
- What brand is the OEM original equipment manufacturer for your BMW parts (1) & what parts & supplies are best to buy OEM, OES, or OE (1)
