Microfilter Replacement Recommendation E66

I previously posted this on the wrong forum and it was removed. Sorry, I am new here.

I need to replace my two microfilters on my E66 . Should I stick with dealer parts or are other available brands just as effective. I would appreciate your recommendations. Thanks.

Here's my old post from February...

Thanks guys for the info on installing the Microfilters. I purchased a set from FCP Groton for $27.99 plus shipping. Two filters come in the box. The part number is 64116921019 for the charcoal set.

It was easier to install than an air filter. I saved a lot over the dealer quoted price of $59 each (he wasn't sure if there were 2 filters in the box, so it may have been $59 for the set).

Anyway, the reset was easy too. This is a great forum for fixing our 7-series!!

God question. These filters are supposed to reduce odor as well as particulate material. In traffic that's a biggy. Interested in others take on this.

I don't recall there being much of a difference.

The only difference you're likely to notice is that the non OEM filters don't usually have the official framework which holds the filters in the holders..
They usually just have some cuts in the case that fold out to help anchor them, but to be honest, even they stay in place..

When I compared the OEM I removed to my Ebay ones, they looked and felt identical in EVERY way, including the framework. The only difference was the lack of a BMW logo.

Look, we're not re-building the space shuttle here, it's a freaking cabin filter lol

I used "Mann" charcoal cabin filters and they're working fine. I don't know what type of difference there could be since it's the first change during my ownership. I bought mine for $30 both all together...I believe off of amazon.

I just replaced the filters. That was easy. Bought Mann filters from an amazon seller for $30. I had trouble with the reset because I tried it with just the ignition key in. Engine must be running apparently to get the second menu. Found the Microfilter reset and finally did that.

Thanks all for the help. Next it's new angel eyes.

Btw,

These Mann filters are identical to the factory original filters.
