wind blocker

Yesterday I picked up a BMW wind blocker for the new 650 vert. I've had these on my e46 M3 cab and my 335 cab and found them to be marginally useful. I was pleasantly surprised today to discover the wind blocker for the 650 makes a very significant difference in wind drafts blowing around the cockpit. When the air is warm it's hard to tell how effective they are, but this morning on the 100 mile drive to the Oxnard VDC junket the temps were in the low 40's - and the windblocker did a superb job of keeping the us warm

The bad news is the price - list is over $600 but you can probably wangle some kind of deal with your dealer's parts guy.

A windscreen is an absolute must in a convertible. They make a tremendous difference. Glad you're enjoying it!

+1 I'm a very big fan of the windscreen - for me, it means the top is down comfortably anytime the temp's are b/n about 50 and 90! (and I got the dealer to toss it in as the last item to close the deal - thanks to this forum I'd heard in advance that it was a must)

Did any of you get a storage bag (like the e46 or e93 has) for your wind blocker? Mine didn't come with one; for what I paid I should have got something to put it in?

Here the wind blocker is included as standard, and it comes in a nice black bag
Do you guys have an issue with installing it in the brackets? I think it is a little unstable and should have been fixed better.

the windscreen for my '07 came with a nice flat carrying case/bag for storage.

My wind deflector did not come with a storage bag but the description on the BMW website says it comes with it. I inquired at the parts department and they were of the opinion that it should have a storage bag. I got a call from the dealer saying that for the 2012 model no storage bag is provided. I sent an email to customer relations letting them know that I was not happy, stay tuned...

Sounds weird. Why would they deliver it to some customers and not to others?
It's obvious that an item that you typically take in and out from the car and store in the garage for longer periods needs a bag. Allthough neatly made, it's not exactly made of nappa leather, so the manufacturing cost should be moderate.....

I wish it were standard here in the US. When I got an MB SL55 way back in 2004, it came with the wind deflector in a bag as well. I see BMW of Ramsey on eBay selling the F13 wind deflector for $550 with free shipping. It's still pricey so I'm taking a pass.

As it turns out, the windscreen for the 2012 650's in the US does not come with a storage bag according to BMW USA, even though their website said it did until I contacted them on this issue, it has since been updated . UK and european deliveries are different but here in the US no bag for you. Since I purchased the deflector when their website said it included a storage bag, BMW has decided to give me a 100% refund of the purchase price.
Some times it really pays to send an email.

Why woud BMWNA save on such a small (compared to car price) amount? Can only be considered as annoying after first pushing 100 grand across the table.....
