I think the poster is a trouble-maker and probably best ignored.

He/she has made negative posts in about 4 or 5 threads here, and nothing is positive; nor are posts necessarily accurate. A troll.

Might be old but apparently BMW UK didn't get the word according to "johnBMW6" in his post here. Driving his new car back from the dealer the rack failed and you can read the rest of his post at "picking up new BMW 35D" here. Thanks Ken for keeping this one alive!

I have indeed had a "Near Miss" steering failed on my way home from the Car being picked up, we were lucky not to be killed.
BMW UK are very poor in there response to my "Near death experience".
I will be writing to the chief executive in the near future.

mine started failing with only 600 km on it. I can't express my frustrations over this BMW it's my third and it's had more problems than mine 200,000km's from my other two BMW . Steering failure, right rear window antitrap malfunction, blown left rear speaker, one day no sound of anykind through speakers, unstable at high speeds, klunk in left front wheel when going from forward to reverse,But goes like a bat out of hell(35i)!!! WOULD NOT BUY ONE AGAIN!!!
