Stock Michelin PS2s vs. Pilot Super Sports???

Doing a little proactive homework (in part after seeing a single X6 tire on 'special' at the local dealer today for over $800!)

I don't need to replace my stock Michelin PS2s yet but in pricing them and looking at alternatives I came by the Pilot Super Sports at Tirerack.com. I was suprised to find the Super Sports higher ranked in all categories than the PS2, about 35% longer tread life, AND about 25% cheaper (this is for 19" M3 tires.) Am I missing something or is the Pilot Super Sport the no-brainer replacement option for someone sticking with Michelins?

No brainer. I just ordered a new set of aftermarket wheels. Went with the pilot super sport tires. Newer, better and cheaper. Like you would look for in a second wife.

Less attitude, too?

Sorry, could not resist.

Great tires.

I took the run flats off my 335i and replaced them with the non-run flat pilot super sports. The handling is great with a better ride. Great tires!

My guess-- considering that by the time you're ready for the second wife you're probably a lot older and she's a lot younger-- is that the second one's gonna be even MORE expensive to keep... Not to mention what it'll cost to have the first one towed out of the driveway.
