CPO 2011 535 vs. 550
To all of you on the fence between a 535 and 550 due to cost.
I know many of us looove brand new cars, myself included. I have spent the past couple of years looking and reviewing CPO prices, etc. Finally, I have decided and if I can remain very patient, will get a CPO 2011 or 2012 550i for my 40th birthday next year. As I have been looking at the 2011 models. It has blown my mind that you can get a used (not necessarily CPO) 550i with low miles for less money than a 535i in many cases. Most of the 550is contain everything that I would order in a car (Sport package and sport auto transmission being the most important options, PLUS I have seen a few with HUD along with top and side cameras). They seem to be anywhere from 56,000-59,9000 where as I am seeing most of the used 535is without sport auto transmission for around $58,000 average. Without a doubt this would be a major factor for people like me who do not want to spend $75000 on a brand new 550i. For those on the fence, this is a great option. What makes me feel even better is that next year I can opt for a 2012 at the end of the year and have most of those 2011 kinks worked out, plus the combox, BMWapps, etc. which may not have been present on some of the 2011s due to production date. Anyhow, just thought I would share the information....as I wait very, very (im)patiently.
