bimmerfest mods, are their panties in a bunch?

What up with bimmerfest moderators, castrating member posts additions to theads...

I get the impression some of mods are like PC college children who get bent out over someone writing in chalk on the sidewalk about Trump...

I agree. Though only one of my posts was castrated, I do feel the pain. Now watch this thread get the chop.

Mods are Draconian since the fun of the 'Fest days when we had lots of trolls running free. Those were more entertaining days.

The Fest is now like a barren landscape. I understand that it is a privately owned site, but "why so serious"?

I'd blame a well known rich guy who plays a politician on TV but I think I'd suffer my second post castration, so I won't mention his name. Therefore, any similarity to any living or dead person is purely coincidental.

Since it's unlikely any wannabe politicians have anything to do with Bimmerfest mods, it might be better to keep the discussion on track.

Honestly, Mods:
I don't think it's necessary to moderate so heavily. Bimmerfest has lost a great deal of entertainment value with the heavy moderation. I wish I hadn't outed Double-S's attempt to get back in and spice things up. The only troll that ever really bothered me was Frog. The rest were mostly just enjoying some good natured banter with an edge.

I believe that there are actually 2 lists. Surely you are on one of them?

It is hard to comment on this as I have no context. I am guessing this has to do with the PS forum?

Have you ever considered it might have nothing to do with either you or with a political bias? Have you considered that maybe, just maybe, not a single mod has moved or removed your posts? It's true. You've been posting political content where it doesn't belong and getting reeled in by the owners of the site, not one single mod. It is their house, after all. You don't get to just pee the floor when you feel like it.

Bimmerfest offers members a place for political discussion including pictures, links, and silly attempts at political references or humor. It's the only place this privilege is offered. Post political content anywhere else and it's likely to get reported then removed.

Why? Well, it's also very simple:

One piece of political trash talk (from any side) will beget more political trash talk. One political pic deserves another and then we're off the rails with that cr@p running rampant outside of the cesspool (my opinion) in which it belongs. We always see people running around trying to make a point through political content during the election cycles.

Oh is this about your post I removed that had a picture of Trump in it? I completely forgot about that, but I guess that makes sense now that Prop mentioned it. It wasn't related to the topic at all and was political so I remove it. We've been very clear about keeping political content to the PS forum, seems simple enough to me. I'm happy to hear an explanation of how a picture of Trump relates to this thread on the new 7.

For the record my panties fit just fine and are not bunchy

Tim

My intent in this original post was achieved by your explanation, expectations and, reasonable guidance.

Respectfully, Electro.

This is the only internet site I have participated in that has a PS forum. I have found myself wondering why, but I guess having a place to dump the unavoidable mess is a decent idea. My few forays there have led me to regard it as a snake pit, and I like snakes!

Visits there led me to an urge to post, but it didn't take long to develop a recoil response. Seems like a waste of bandwidth to me, but I guess for many it is therapeutic, icky as it may be.

Thank you for putting so eloquently my exact thoughts into such words. If you don't mind, I will try to use some of these words to soften my public opinion of that forum. Well done.

The aim is a casual conversation rather than an intense interrogation.

Wear boxer shorts and you won't experience near as much bunching. The freedom of 'letting things hang' is exhilarating!

Bimmerfest is a friendlier place than the vast majority of the internet, and I think the mods are play a big part in this. Thanks mods!
