Supercharger E65 Photos

Suri is right the Supercharger was from ESS Tuning
It is a TVS Stage 2 Eaton with a custom ESS Tuning manifold
I have not had time to get the tuning right yet but when I have time I will work on that.
Performance is great.

It does bolt straight on and ESS provides injectors , intercooler and other bits needed.
The unit was about 11k I think from memory

I know this thread is old but I was going to purchase the supercharger ess tuning when it was released for the e65 this coming year. But I looked at the dyno numbers Giz11 posted and he only gained 82hp from the s/c that cost over $9,000 not including the tune and labor of the parts. This is highway robbery that kit is no different then the ones on ebay that you wire up to your air box. Just expressing my disappointment of this product after we all waited so long for it. They claim you get 125hp with the intercooler but Giz11 has all this and only got that little bit of power.

How much Boost is he seeing ? All depends how he's tuned as well , tune could be conservative low timing etc , AFR all play a roll ?

He is getting 82HP at the WHEELS.. probably a little close to 125hp total.. plus we have no idea how much boost he is running and he has already said it's still running rich, running right that thing could scream..

Would I pay this much? Probably not. But is 82 whp a significant gain? DEFINITELY. And it's pretty much the only option available right now to increase performance, unless you're just able to purchase a faster car

OME TUNING offers a 30hp tune for like $600 which is half the hp of a s/c. I'm around a lot of modded cars daily far as performance and s/c normally kick out 100hp + to the ground. I would love to have a s/c 7 series but at a cheaper price maybe around $6000-$7500 would entertain the thought but for over $9000 thats just a rip off. I run a 75 wet shout of gas and save $8000 just in case I blow the motor i got extra cash to purchase another one.

I bet the OME tune disables the P0491 emissions codes, due to the design flaw and the clogged ports in the heads.. making that tune well worth $600.. I believe the software just to disable the codes are in the multi-hundreds..

nice supercharger bro! im in the works now for my e65 with VAC motorsports in philly now to put a eaton or whipple on mine. My goal is to safely push the stock motor to its limits. I have some numbers in mind but will see what gives. My projects are usually crazy. I have a 04 cobra pushing 1076 rwhp on pump running compound boost set up. I should have my project e65 complete in the next four months. Then I can race simon lol

No I haven't installed gas on my 7 YET! But next year I'm installing gas, bigger injectors, high-flow cats, and level 10 tranny upgrade. I'll start a thread as soon as I start buying the goodies. I know a lot of you guys are like why do all this to a 7 but like my friend told me who is buying the ess tuning s/c, it's cheaper to play with this car then go buy a cts-v or porsche which I agree cause I'm bored with mustangs and camaro just the typical street cars. It be so bad ass to bust some buts at the stop light and go valet park for dinner lol!!

May I ask what a level 10 tranny upgrade is? I would be afraid to add any power to these cars because of our trannies..

From the website it looks like the 745 gains 26hp - up to 351hp total and the 750 gains 18 hp - up to 378hp total and it's $690 for the software. It might be worth it?

level 10 make custom transmission to handle beyond stock power. check out there site level10.com and yea its worth the money. its a whole lot better then $9000 for 82hp. oh yea silversnakebmw when did whipple make a s/c for the 7 series?

I was emailed tonight and thy offer both 745 and 750 maps. They are also running a special right now thru the end of the year.

If you are interested I suggest you contact them directly as they are not sponcers on bimmerfest. The special for you to send in you ecu is 550.00 and to get the plugin commander cost 800.00.

They have great customer service. I am gone try them out before the end of the month and post my thoughts. Now my question is do anyone see my point of not buying the over priced s/c for the 7 series when small mods like this is way more better on your wallet. I would like Giz11 to chime in being that he the only one that has done the s/c and know more about the dyno results he posted then us. I want to know at the time of the dyno run was all the flaws worked out or was this the best results he could get out of it.

If I was to do or even think about a s/c I myself would just go find a nice B7.

I like the fact that oetuning supplies the different maps, limiter removal, changes to the gear box and most important with this car the adjustment of throttle response. For 800.00 still seems like a lot of money but its one of the only modifications for our cars.

I am on the fence but really thinking about this mod.

Whipple does not offer one. My friend who I grew up with is on of their head people. So were going to come up with something one off working with VAC motorsports to some up with something roots style should be come pretty exciting stuff. VAC helped a friend of mine in UAE do a custom set up on his 7 that no one in the world has and never will.

I myself would love to have the Alpina B7 but to be able to make a 745 or a 750 whoop some azzzz on a mustang or ect. then go valet for dinner yes thats my thing and to pay more then $$7,000-$11,000+ more for so little Hp when we can get more Hp for a corvette or mustang Supercharger under $8,000
