All the numbers that they promote are at the crank hp. not the power you get to the ground. All said and done the kit is just to pricey for such small power gains. Sorry Ess tuning no hard feelings. Ah maybe Sliversnakebmw will be kind enough to offer the custom made supercharger to the other members at a better price than the Ess tuning s/c?

Hey Los, what are your thoughts about the oetuning maps?

I can't read a Dyno from a hole in my head, where are you seeing the hp gain at the top end or in the low end torque?

They do but the gains aren't as great. Plus there is no option to switch back and forth between maps. The only 2 benefits are cost (plus there is a 15% off sale right now) and that BMW dealer's will actually install the software for you. I know mine will at least

Oetuning software is a proven product of what it claims. They don't promote numbers that are not factual like others and they didn't over price the software just because we own an 7 series. I'll tell you guys all about it when I try it out.

Setup looks OEM...but for the money, I would have looked into swapping in the new V8TT with trans. Just a flash on that setup and you'll have well over 450whp.

Actually if I would do a swap in my 7 it would be for a m5 v10 engine or v12 engine

Then you would have been in the same boat you are now...spending tons of cash for little gains. Having a boosted motor makes mild mods worth the money. I've built cars for the better part of 20 years. Think I dumped close to $50k in the 350Z to get to 800whp. Only spent about $7k getting the X3 to get 600whp.

Nevertheless...keep up the good work. We don't make strides in performance by doing what everyone else would do. Car looks good. Only thing I'd consider at this point would be to upgrade the valve body in the transmission for more consistent shifts. Not sure what the torque capacity is of the 7 series trans....I have yet to mod mine. Doubt I ever will since she is getting close to 100k miles. I'm just going to do stereo, drop, rims, and done.

What all did you have to do for the X3 to get those gains? It originally had the same engine as the 335i right?

yea really ive seen a oe tuned x5M launch so hard the rear axles snapped

Yea, same motor as the 335i. In the process of researching what can be done to the trans. I don't really rag on the car b/c I'm not sure if the trans will hold it (8speed auto). Fuel system, turbo/mani/dp, engine management. She looks stock as did my 350Z. I'll snap some pics when I get a chance. Not really trying thread jack. :/
