Drift and Donuts

In 2011 we held a drift and donuts event. There were two skid pads (one wet the other dry) and a 60 second autocross course. Participants could do any of the above at their leisure. It was a great test'n'tune day!

My question is - do our members want another one in 2012? If so, what would you like to be different?

When we do this again, I think we need to do what our organization does best. Mentor the driver that has a desire to learn new skills. I think the instructor corps should develop a classroom lesson plan. Things that should be covered: adjusting tire pressure for oversteer, the dynamics of initiating a fishtail, the dynamics of a steady state drift, open vs limited slip diff, where this parking lot skill set differs from big track techniques/dynamics, and maybe even e-brake pull and clutch kick.
