door alarm won't turn off

I have a 1986 528e. For some unknown reason the door alarm will not turn off. Anyone know who to disengage the alarm or what the possible cause could be? Thanks for your help!

You can try removing fuse #5. It could be related to a problem with your SI board.

Thanks for the advice it did work sort of. I can still hear it very quietly, it's no where near as annoying and nerve racking!!! I read somewhere that this alarm is used to indicate several issues, the door being open with the key in the ignition, but I am not sure what else it is used for, I think the seatbelt perhaps, but would it chime if there was a mechanical issue? Anyone know what that chime/alarm indicates other than the door being open?

I found wires shorted in my drivers side seat belt buckle. disconnected and works fine now except I have no seatbelt warning other than the freindly officer and his $50 ticket.
