I'm guessing he doesn't have an avus blue car as it wasn't offered on the E46.

It was offered on the E36 and the first year of the E39 M5 (before it was replaced by LeMans blue).

That said, it's

You never know, might have been an individual order.

If you want resale to be as high as possible, most people will tell you not to respray the car any color other than the original. You can always vinyl wrap the car which is cheaper and removable for when you want to sell.

Thanks for the advise,I'm not so much worried about the resale value as just having a interested buyer.I think avus blue is more practical as aposed to the atlantic blue which some might consider to be "ugly".but I like it.how much would my car cost around to vinyl wrap it and who would actually do that for me?thanks

How bad and what color is the current paint? And is it the original? Original paint will give you better resale value than a respray. I personally wouldn't consider buying a repainted car, as I'd forever be wondering what damage it was hiding.
