It will likely be a feature added in the future.

Well considering it's on the E90's - I think this is a step back. Fantastic option, loved it on my 335.

I suspect it will be late availability similar to how it was on the E90. So the 6 people who want it are going to have to wait.
![]() Seriously though, at an unbelievably absurd $2,400 for this option on the E90 (what is this, 2003?) - that still doesn't do Stop/Go - I'd be shocked if the take rate was more than 0.5%.

Listed for July 2012 availability in the international brochure. Not sure how that will be handled by BMW NA though. The stop/go feature would be great for Dallas traffic, but not worth the wait for me.

Personally, don't really care. I'll spend my money on performance features instead of this absurdly expensive option I'll rarely use. Again, just my opinion.

I noticed that for 2011 you could get soft-close doors on all models of the 5 series.
For 2012, only the 550 gets soft close doors. I suspect BMWNA will play games with options in an attempt to have a separation between the models. Getting rid of active cruise, yet combining NAV/HUD together makes no sense to me (assuming the posted price list is correct). Any 3 series with NAV will cost $1,000 more compared to a competitor simply because HUD is forced.

As for the comments that it's a worthless option - I understand your thinking. I fell in love with it on my last car when I was constantly in bumper to bumper traffic. It's phenomenal technology in my opinion. |

But, you and about ten other 3er buyers thought it was worth paying for on a 3er. Law of supply and demand. Having the car pre-wired for the alarm was nice, but it didn't make fiscal sense based on the demand...or lack there of.
