E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135. |

Convenient Access- how to tell on a 125
hi
i have a 125i convertible 2011 model, basically my car,s roof can open with the remote but wont close when using the remote. the user manual indicates this is only possible for cars that have convenient access. I would like to know if my car has Convenient Access ( is there something physical i should look out for or is it in the vin number) previously my roof would close by use of the remote, my roof got stuck about 3 weeks ago took it to the dealership, since then the roof wont close by using the remote and they are adamant this feature is not applicable for my car.... Not sure where you are located, but on North American BMWs, CA equipped cars have ridges (serrations) on the upper right part of the outside door handles. Simply touching the ridge should then lock the car if the CA fob is within about 5 feet. If the handle top is smooth, then you do not have CA.

hi Tom
i think you referring to Comfort Access, which enables you open or lock door from near distance... my query is on Convenient Access, they are similar but not the same. i need some lessons on Convenient Access... is it a programmable feature, does it require different hardware, etc |

And my '07 manual lists "Comfort Access - see Convenient Access". Tom Last edited by Tom K.; 11-25-2011 at 06:21 PM. |
