CPU "adjustment" Secondary air fault

Does anyone know of a CPU "adjustment"that would allow the emissions test sequence to bypass the secondary air fault? This of course would be strictly used for off-road and racing engine preparation only.http://s1.bimmerfest.com/forums/imag.../aim-angel.gif

Yes it can be coded out ... But ,, if its only for off road and racing , you will be running with out the cats . It wont make any difference , because the secondary air system has no impact on the engine performance .

I'd love to code mine out. I've searched all over but nobody has specifics. ECS can do it as part of a tune which is most likely the route I'm going very soon.

I wanted to code mine out too but didn't see a DIY on it, i have a code and im not sure if its my pump or what but when its hot outside (or the car too) the code goes away if i reset it but comes back after the car cools down or cold start....

Makes sense ,,, because when its cold the secondary air aids in warming up the cats on cold starts . So when its hot the cats don't need assistance to heat up . Its probably just the pump thats faulty ..

thanks

Edit:
Adding 12v to the pump today and got nothing, I just plugged my secondary air valve for temp until I get a new pump. Wish there was a way to code this out so CEL won't show.

If you were to code it out ,, When the car gets hooked up at the smog station it will show its suppose to have a factory installed secondary air system .. The tech will catch that , and fail the inspection ..

The amount of emissions saved by pre-heating the cats using the secondary air system is ridiculously small.

There is a simple way to pass emissions by clearing all codes and then making a temporary change during each cold startup (when the secondary air system comes on) while completing the drive cycle.

After completion of the drive cycle you will need to move directly to emissions testing.

This will not keep the SES light off after that without making the change during each cold start, but if your objective is to get through emissions this method will get you there.

As a previous poster stated, this method is for off road vehicles, and not designed to circumvent emissions testing for daily drivers.

Clarification: This method will only work if you have an operating secondary air system. If your pump is not working you will throw other codes that will prevent a checklist an illuminate the SES light (primarily related to 8 cylinder engines that have clogged air passages due to leaking valve stem seals).
