x5 premium vs sport activity suspension

is the suspension different between the sport activity vs premium X5 - or is the difference just in wheels, and other visual components?

i noticed when building the x5 sport activity the sport suspension and wheel with paddle shifters is checked but grayed out text. Does it mean that is is included? At least if I leave it default the picture summary shows paddle shifters. can someone confirm....trying to place my order...Thanks.

I'm deducing that the Sport Activity model will have the sport steering wheel with paddle shifters. However, the model doesn't come with sport suspension because Americans just want the big wheels and apperance-related upgrades.

The M sportpaket adds the "M sport steering wheel + shifters" but that's greyed out until you choose the option package. It also adds sport suspension by default or you can add Adaptive Drive for a discount.

My '12 Sport Activity has the steering wheel paddles.

Is your SAV a 3.5 or 5.0? I bought a 3.5 that was built in June and it didn't come with paddle shifters.

agreed- I guess I would have expected it to at least have the sport suspension included - but I guess that is the way BMW markets this these days. However, what I do not agree with is that some BMW sales rep have no clue.

1. When I asked about it - I was told that it is a different suspension vs. the premium 35i
2. When inquired about the paddle shifters was told that these are not included and that I need to get the M package to have them even though these show up online when you build the car and saw plenty of SAV 35i in person on the lot w/o the M package (based on windonw sticker).

So if I order x5 3.5i Sport Activity without M package steering will have paddles

Yes, if you order a '12 Sport Activity it will have paddles.

Mine is a '12 3.5i sport activity built last month

i'm also debating between premium & sports, only reason for me is i can NOT get black frontliner in premium

so can someone summarize difference between premium vs sporty if no M-sport package added?

read thru the discussion, still quite confused
