Hey everyone,
Okay I have two questions. I have a 2000 323i and I need do an engine swap and I was wondering if the M54B30 engine and matching trans would fit right in without any modifications? If it does fit, does anyone know where I can buy the M54B30 and matching trans in the new jersey area (New York, Delaware, Pennsylvania) preferably one that is 5 speed.

It fits, but the electronics are the issue. Meaning the ECU. There is a thread on E46fanatics about a guy who supposedly did it without changing the ECU, but I don't know if it really worked or not.

If you decide to go the easy route, I have a 323 engine with a 325i manual trans I would sell you. Been in my car for about 60k miles.
