FM AUX Tuner help

Hello everyone
I know most of you did this months or years ago but since I've recently bought my 745i I'm trying to do this mod but I'm getting no luck. here is how I connected my AUX cable

when I connected the tuner back on the car, the FM AM worked as usual and as soon as I connected my phone with music playing, the FM sound stopped but there was no sound of my music. the FM started again by disconnecting the AUX.
here I also have a question regarding the ground wire...where should I connect it? I soldered it to the tuner wall...is that the reason it didn't work?

Then I tried to connect to the back of the board using points C, D, and E.

this time connecting the AUX didn't even stop the FM tuner from playing.
I think its because my tuner doesn't have anything behind those points, not like the others I've seen.

Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

Thanks in advance

I think I have seen a document about this before, and to do this you have to remove some of the SM components as well. Did you remove any SM components?

I've read 3 threads about this, there are two different ways to do it: front and back of the circuit board. for the one I've shown in the picture you don't need to remove anything.
here is the thread:

Finally got it working....
Thanks Ace for trying to help. I've sent you pm regarding your pre-facelift parts.
btw this morning I found something interesting while I was driving my car without the radio tuner. the date and the clock on the Idrive display were missing...they must be related to radio module somehow.

first I used this configuration by MakaveliFaison

and it didn't work, then used this one which is the original idea of this mod.

and it worked the first time.

Do you have your pictures backwards? Because it looks like you added parts to the board. But I know you said you removed parts.

no if you look closely, in the first picture where the wire is connected, the component (which I have no idea what it's called) is lied horizontally and connected on it's both sides, where in the second picture it is removed and connected verticaly to raise the connection. here is the link where I found this method: http://66.163.168.225/babelfish/tran...%2fM_Radio.htm

thank you for asking, I first thought no one is interested in this mod anymore, most people now looking into ipod retrofit, but this is the cheapest way to have aux, and yea this might help someone some day.

Not to be a total dumbas, but can someone please re-type the process, where is the tuner located, Under the dash, and what needs to be removed, and how does one add the extensions to the post shown in the diagram.

I would like to do this mod this weekend as my cd collection totally sucks.

So what do you guys think? I'm gonna try to use this setup to switch between fm and aux mode. I did this mod a few weeks ago (aux mod). I miss having the radio tho. My clock on the car works fine. It needs to be reset due to having to disconnect the battery.

I did this mod (xolmatic) also. Where did you guys solder the ground? I took the common ground on the case, but I am having a alternator whine...

Thanks for the answer.

Thanks, if I had a facelift MMI I would have done that.
But now I am stuck with the tuner mod.

Like to know where to ground best to prevent the alternator whining.
