Revving engine while cold
I started the car and drove for 5 minutes before I stopped and left the car running while on Part. I inadvertently stepped on the gas pedal as I was trying to reach to the back seat and must've pressed it all the way down. The engine revved very loudly and all kinds of "Engine Malfunction..." and "Accelerate Slowly..." came up. Also, the small yellow car symbol started flashing until I turned the car off about 8 seconds later. 1 minute later, I turned the car back on and everything was alright, no service engine light, no small yellow car, no nothing? Anyone experience such a thing? I'm guessing perhaps the engine RPM went above the threshold indicator until the car is warmed up!!

You could have hit the rev limit. The damage would be done, if you are going to have any problems. The best thing you can do, is listen & worry. I am sure you will start to hear all kind of noises!
Take it easy on that car, you just spent a lot of money on her! Good Luck! |
