So long guys - moving to Audi

First and foremost I have enjoyed this forum more than any other in my long history of five 7 series in a row. I still can't believe I will not be driving a BMW but this past one has been a lot of trouble (more than normal) and on top of it my dealer f@cked around with me and BMW NA was incredibly unhelpful. The short of it is that my dealer messed up a valve stem seal job under warranty and they were unwilling to admit it or fix it because they would have to pay. The car blew coil after coil and plug after plug every two weeks since July 5th. I am hurt after all the loyalty I have shown them. Even still, I tried to get another f02 but not with my heart in it.

Pulled the trigger on a new A8L today. I was very impressed with the interior layout and the new gadgets like wifi and DVD playback on the main screen. I think the new Audi styling across all models is sexy. I also love the mouse pad thing on the console. Just as powerful as my E66 but not nearly as the F02. Got quartz gray on black. Piano black trim. Cameras etc. nice Bose sound system. All wheel drive of course with upgraded wheels. Looking forward to reading the manual and being unfamiliar with how things work.

This forum is awesome because of the members. I will still lurk and try to help. I hope I can find an equally as good Audi forum.

Which dealership were you going to for your BMW service? Did you look into the A7?

BMW gallery Norwood. I did check out the A7. Very nice and cheaper than I thought. It shares the A6 frame, so a little small compared to the A8.

For all the MA members please stay away from the Norwood gallery. They have the worst techs period. I have an appointment at the Herb chambers dealership on Monday. I've been meaning to make a thread about how bad their service techs. It takes 2-3 visits to fix one problem. Their SA are really bad now.

Yeah, even small things they could not get right. Multiple visits for everything.

Farewell brother. I really liked the old barbera red 7. Too bad your dealership couldn't take care of your current one properly.

Crap Joe hate to see a good bmw guy go to the dark side. the new audi is awesome and really doubt you'll miss the outdated 7 to be honest. was actually gonna pm you to see how things were going. been looking into a new body and they are really cutting deals on the 740's....had me thinking. def post pics and stop by from time to time to see how many problems we are still dealing with. If you dont mind posting up some #'s on what you did get for your.

Looking at 2012 A8 makes me thing to switch too! It is way ahead of the looks than BMW, kind of space machine look! Congrats, you won't regret it. The 2012 BMW does feels a little downgrade/cheaper quality than Solid 2007 750 LI that I have. I love the steering wheel on Audi too, it is so comfortable, you can practically rotate it with one finger!

Congratulations on the A8! I never liked the BMW Gallery Norwood dealer as their sales department was rude enough to make my family walk away immediately. We do service at BMW Gallery Norwell as it's really close to my dad's workplace and so far they've been doing a good job.

This was part of the problem. I complained to BMW NA many times and all I would get was "what would you like us to do". They would not buy the car back. I was assigned a complete idiot advisor at BMW NA who would never answer his phone and call me back a week later.

I knew something smelled funny when my dealer started acting weird. I questioned why my car was blowing coils and plug right after the valve job and if it was related and they went silent on me. They just kept fixing per the code. If the code said bad coil #8 they would replace it. They replaced coil 8 four times in 6 weeks and then spark plug 8 cracked so they put in a new plug. I could not believe the way I was being treated. They refused to do a compression test. I drove a loaner more since July than my own car. They screwed up the valve job and were not willing to go back in on their own dime. Pretty sad.

Good luck with new new car. After many BMWs going with a different manufacturer should be a welcomed change. The good thing is that you can always come back to BMW if you chose to.

you know they fuked your car up with the valve job, and shame on bmw for not backing the car or the messed up job they did. And even more from a guy that had 5 7's in a row some customer loyalty huh. They should have bend over backwards to make that work.
