First - the agony of ordering - DCT v. 6MT...then the interminable wait...and now break-in purgatory....the M3's visage beckons - the engine's rasp tantalizes - my M3 entices me to push a little harder - a little longer - a little faster....I am sooo frustrated - anticipating the moment when I can
jus' nail it!

Thanks! - oh yes - can we say M3 Performance Exhaust!

BTW - love your car - I often took note of it when I was doing R&D on this forum....
Indeed, I compared and contrasted the pic of your M3 with the unflattering renderings of silverstone on the BMWUSA site.

Thanks for luv and yes the performance exhaust is a great place to start. Also don't forget the most inexpensive mod you'll have.......the orange reflector delete. After these are done, hold on to your wallet because it only gets lighter with every mile you drive. And I'm not talking about gas...................Phil

Thanks!

Having just gotten my M3 in the last 10 days, I am still in morning after-glow-bliss and I have not really given much thought to mods
except maybe BMW's Performance Exhaust...vrroom!

Although I have friends who are fans of clear bras, I have always gone au naturale.
I tend to be very fanatical about waxing, and do an artful job on touch ups.

A stunner & exactly what I would spec out (even up to the sunroof). I've never been more happy for a fellow fester.

One question-where does the GSD ride?

Yes, there have been a lot of discussions about clear bra. My take is it is better to a quality repaint of the leading edges than to see that cheap plastic 24/7. To me, it's like plastic seat covers in the '60s.

Wow...over 1100+ views...I know what it must be like to be the new dog at the dog run...sniff

Thanks for the nice comments - I am discovering what you already know - the E92 M3 is a very special BMW. My enthusiasm for my M3 grows with each passing day as I become more familiar with its extraordinary talent and nuanced subtleties.

This weekend we are making our first foray into the mountains of West Virginia! Yes!

Beautiful car (though I admit I am biased). After 34 months I NEVER get tired of the SS II. As you noted, the configurator simply doesn't do it justice. An added benefit is that the Silverstone looks great even when it is not immaculately clean. Can't say the same about many colors, like IB. three burning questions:

How's the Novillo standing up to the dog's paws?

Why did you opt for the sunroof instead of the CF Roof? (IIRC from the F07 forum, you're on the tall side).

Does the ///M supplement or replace the GT?

Nick - my GSD - and I are pretty much inseparable - he sits in between the front seats, with his back end anchored in the rear seat, and enjoys looking forward through the windshield. He has learned to lean into the curves and he uses the front seats as bolsters. I place a small black rug over his area to protect the hides from his claws. See attached for Nick in position.

CF Roof - a biggie - yes I am 6'3" - in general if a friend were to ask me CF Roof or moon roof - I would recommend the CF Roof. I think the CF roof is one of the E92 M3's more distinctive features. I chose a moon roof for the following reasons:

1- I enjoy moon roofs - any temp above 40 degrees and my roof is open. I spend a considerable amount of time in the mountains of Western Maryland and West Virginia. I especially enjoy the sense of freedom the moon roof imparts on both sunny days as well as bright starry nights.
2 - Nick - my GSD - loves moon roofs - especially given his preferred seating position -
3 - Although I think lighter colors on the M3 look better with CF roofs in general - I thought Silverstone worked particularly well with the moon roof - the car appears to have been carved from a solid block of aluminum. Moreover, in certain lights, light reflects off of every surface creating a dazzling jewel tone effect that appears other worldly.

GT- Gone. I owned my 550i GT for almost one year to the day. I found the GT to be an engaging Big BMW. However, I bought the GT for my family and it was never meant to be "my" car. My prior car was a 335i MT E93. I yearned to returned to my sport car roots. As previously noted - I think I know how a salmon must feel compelled to seek out the source...ditto. When the needs of my family changed, I seized the opportunity. I thought I might be returning to Porsche (997) but I was captivated by the M3 - the first time I pushed the start button. Some cars are just meant to be.....I feel in perfect sync with my M3.

Today was my birthday and I spent the morning in the mountains of West Virginia -Vrrrooommmm!!!!

I was waiting for confirmation, and it's true, you have to be the bravest person I know to haul your GSD like that in the M3.

Beach, river, woods & one step my Lab is covered in the great outdoors & surely he would deposit the 'Sands of Rio/Playa/Bosque' in every corner of the car. He rides in the crate in back & is welcome every day, every trip. I agree, a blanket is handy as well.

Best of travels with Nick.
