Check out this video: Designing the new BMW 3 Series Sedan

BMW released a new video showing some of the process behind designing the next generation BMW 3 Series sedan on youtube today. It is really amazing in some ways how much effort is put into every aspect of the design.

Take a few minutes and watch the video!

Great that they spent a lot of effort to design the car. However, not so great that there is no dipstick and the dashboard still lights up an unhealthy orange. The eye is red-weak meaning you have to illuminate it more to see. In contrast, the eye is great with green. BMW should have soft green lighting for the dash.

Actually the amber/orange lighting comes from BMW's research showing that it is easier for the eye to adjust to and from that color in night time driving. They don't do anything randomly. It's a company of engineers.

I disagree with the Green is more comfortable, I personally never had a problem with the orange light fully on even on long drives at night . Its also something BMW would never change like the kidney grills and the round circle lights thatís always has to be there one way or another from the time BMW was introduced to the world. you should get a Toyota if you want a green dash.

Saabs had theirs lit up in green and now they are bankrupt. So much for the healthy green.
