Depends on the equipment used. I had mine done at a tire shop that uses Hunter with lasers reading mirrors placed on the wheels. Worked great! I paid $68.
Make sure they do the rears first and have the right car loaded in the computer. There is a difference between RWD and Xdrive.

Town Fair Tire Center. They sell tires basically, but also do alignments. The machince is called Hunter 2000. It spits out a diagnostic report that shows the tolerances your car is adjusted to. Very scientific, I am extremely pleased with the results. Car is ueber mint steering and balance wise. BMW has nothing on these guys.

Well..I see sign at my local shop for $45.95.

I generally buy Lifetime alignment from FireStone for $149 and you never have to worry about the price. I do this for all my cars. Their regular price is $79.99. I know Pepboys and most bigger chain has this option.

only problem if you have active steering option, they can't do that right? Correct me if I'm wrong.

Active steering. Yes, be careful as that is more complicated. Better research in depth first.

I'm getting mine done at a BMW dealer tomorrow afternoon, after getting new tires today. They use the sandbags as has been mentioned in the other alignment threads. They have a $99 service coupon for it this month. No active steering for me to worry about them trying to charge extra fees over.

okay, thanks for replying. Which curry's did you use?...as i see a new location in g'burg. I know nothing of them...looks like they may be going the franchising route, and they are an "indy" versus "dealer" VOB. Understandable difference in cost from my POV. If you go back to VOB, i can provide you with the SA i use...just PM me.

VOB just assigns service advisors - you cannot switch teams unless you get approval from the Service manager . Plus at least for the team to which I was assigned, VOB burns through service advisors. I seem to get a new service advisor every 8 months or so!

I used the Curry's in Falls Church/Reston (on Route 7), after a friend of mine recommended them to me.
