Flex plate????

Kinda stranded and waiting on a tow, I think it's a flex plate, sounds like front of trans along with a little bit of metal shavings falling out of the inspection hole. What's your guys opinion??

The video was decent, sounds like you're on the mark. At this point it's got to be recommended: 5 spd swap.

Good luck to you, whichever route you take.

I'd definitely not order anything (in terms of parts) though until the tranny has been dropped and you can physically see what all you'll need.

Best of luck to you on this one.

I think I will pull the starter first just to check for damage, maybe it was staying in gaged? I felt it and it wasn't hot when it was running. Funny thing is I just tryed to start it again and the noise is gone! But tow truck is on its way and it's free so I will just have it towed to my base's hobby shop and use a lift to make to job easyer.

Would not be $1200 for 5 speed swap if you do the work....I have a differential and driveshaft I could sell you for $200 bucks for both and have my buddy take them back down to florida with him after christmas.

Well it was the starter, it broke internally which was causing it to hang out about 1/32. But no damage to the flex plate and I pick up the new starter after work ($75).
