I-Phone 4S and the Media adapter

My I-phone 4S does not work with the Media snap-in. BMW service dept. said they are having problems with 4S and the I-phone 4 works fine. I hear some say the I-phone 4S works just fine. Maybe software related.... does anyone know the different software versions in the car that are needed to get the I-Phone 4S to work?

When I use the USB adapter - I get the BMW Apps to work but not the Plug-In. I see the battery is charging using the USB cable... does it also use the car antenna - or does only the adapter snap-in use the cars antenna?

Really confused if it's my car or the I-Phone 4S or a combination of the two.

My build date production date for the 328i is 5/2011

Also - what does the Plug-In suppose to do?

I've got a 4s and a 6month old M3 - here's my take.
I had to re-seat my snap in connector in the M a few times before the BMW Connect app worked. Now it works just fine. Also, I start the Connect app before plugging the phone into the car. The plug-in works just fine when the phone is snapped into the car if I do do it this way. I don't care for the way the BMW's interface works with the iPhone though - that's just personal opinion.

According to what I was told at my E.D., when connected, the iPhone can take advantage of the external antenna when it's in the adapter. now, if it does in practice - I'm not sure as I've never had a problem with signal strength with my 4s.

What does this thread have to do with the F30???
