Bad Idle Pulley

Just helped a friend replace his idle pulley. Wanted to show you some pics of how extreme it was. Replacement Idle pulley cost $28, Serpentine Belt $38 at Advance Auto
Took me less than 30 minutes to replace both. Just sharing!

The one on the left is the bad one, totally ground down by belt:

Not really. He said it never gave him any warning or squealing. He said he just cranked it up yesterday afternoon and all types of codes and warnings were flashing.
He tried to drive but couldnt get out the driveway because steering was gone. He called me and I came over and when we looked under hood he had belt shrapnel everywhere.
He was just lucky it didnt fail while he was still on the road somewhere.
I told him I wanted to share this with the forum fam so I took pics.
