I looked up that part number and it didn't come up as a 2002, it came up as discontinued...

I hadn't tried NCS or INPA etc and I agree with you, the bottom line is that they are all just different GUI's to access the same data. I guess I stumbled across this Dashsoft which would have to be the most user friendly one I have come across to date.

I differ on your interpretation of the SZL, it is not really a gateway, sure the Wiper controls, Gear Controls, Headlight and Indicator Controls and Cruise Controls work through it, but the SZL is just another module which is actually connected to the SIM which then feeds to the ZGM (Gateway Module) The SZL module is a part of the byteflyte network which is NOT connected to the MOST bus in anyway shape or form. Maybe you meant the ZGM?





So, lets keep working together and we can eat this 'perceived' elephant........ byte by byte...... module by module

I did mean ZGM... I still need to familiarize myself how information flows between the various modules in the car.

Do you have a copy of the BUS system in the E65 E66? I have it on .pdf if you are interested in a copy. It has a visual diagram of all the networks in the car and how the data is transmitted on them. Let me know if you are interested.

Maybe i missed it but when you say you added aux & bluetooth is that just heading's in the menu that are dimmed out because they dont actually exist ?

They come up as controllable, they are not dimmed out....

PAPER, I am going to try and organise a trip in your summer and I will see if I can house hop around a few Bimmerfestorians, that would be fun.....

so now you have a working aux port and bluetooth ?

just got to connect the new TCU for the Bluetooth.

and the aux is that part of ipod retro fit.

Hey Darklord, the AUX is a connection made to the back of the ASK unit, it has nothing to do with the iPod........but because of getting the iPod to work, I don't really see the need for AUX input

ACE. Should I assume that the 07+ E65 has a different ASK from the 06+ which wiring for an aux port? So if someone with a facelife MMI got a 07+ ASK they can run the wiring to get an aux port, make changes to the MMI to display the aux port and there done?

As far as OIL level goes, my car is a pre-facelift and it didn't show OIL Level, but now I have activated that and now I have it. Also with the front seat heating, again my car being a pre-facelift, I couldn't adjust to where the heating would bias too, e.g. more to your back or more to your bum.......now I have that additional control to alter the bias of the seat heating.
Adding AUX gave me an additional input and also my car didn't have BLUETOOTH, now I do!
In the Audio section, yes, I have now FM, AM, CD, CDC(iPod), AUX, TV, DVD, PICTURE and TONE(which takes me to the L7)

Are you saying that all you had to do was activate bluetooth and it started working?!?!?!? Did you have to add an additional module or anything? I have the BTU-thingy but I'd lie to be able to have bluetooth without it. I plan to do the facelift soon and add the iPhone 4 adapter.

WE ARE WoRKING ON THAT NOW . SO FAR YOU NEED THE TCU , BLUETOOTH ANTENNA ,
NEWER CRADLE , & SOME WIRING NEEDS TO BE MODIFIED . IM SURE THERE IS MORE .
WE STILL NEED TO FIGURE THE REST OUT .
