Reprogramming your MMI (front screen)

Yes, I did this using NCS Expert, read the MMI ecu, then search for IPOD, when you find that line change "nicht_aktiv" to "aktiv" and you will have the ipod menu instead of CD1-6

I did this with dashsoft, but it would never show the songs in my playlist, the lil cursor kept spinning and spinning, But yes i did fig it out.

Does anyone know how to code windows up from the keyfob with dashsoft 2.1.

If not can someone send me a link to download ncs dummy.

im also looking to code doors lock when driving and follow me home lights on the fob from dashsoft. Acefx said he doesnt know how to do it...I bought a cable for NCS, does anyone with NCS know how to do this?

Ive actually seen that thread. Ill read up on how to use NCS expert to code that when I get the cable as I have been using dashsoft. If I run into problems ill be in contact

my car already with Windows up from the keyfob, i can read for you the block file by Dashsoft but what will be the the controller? General Module?

but i did not understand follow me lights enabled? what is that option

i also don't have the Accept massage in the MMI
My car is middle east options its so different then US cars.

When you unlock the car or lock. The Parker lights will come on. So at night in car park you can find your car

Also called welcome lights

i have friend his car imported from US he had this options with a sound also.

i will copy his code and share it very soon. please let me know is it in Light Module?

also his car had Front Signal as park light

RTGrove, this function is ONLY possible on the facelift MMI. That is using the genuine BMW iPod kit.

I manged to get the MMI and iPod kit off eBay for £250. Great upgrade, well worth doing!

Welcome lights are only a function of the newer light module, I have replaced mine with an LM2 from an LCI E60, also, since swapping the light module the button on the key fob (below the boot button) now switches on the headlights.

Hmmm...i have a 2006, so it is with the facelift mmi (as i understand it). I also have the oem ipod kit, but i just get cd01-cd06, not the text readouts of the options on the screen....the manual even states that is the way it works. Im confused...

Hi,

Yeah that's right, strange eh! If your MMI has a coding index of C04 then in your trace file from the MMI you should see LISTH_0306, activating this will enable the iPod menus. This is assuming you are using NCS Expert?

For dashsoft you need to go to line 3002 of the MMI coding memory and change one 'bit' in one of the 'bytes'.

My only guess is that BMW developed the iPod kit in conjunction with alpine, and at a later date updated the MMI software to include the iPod menus, that's why if your MMI has a fairly recent software version you an simply enable it. If you want to update the MMI firmware/operating software then you can flash it using winKFP, that's another story though!

hi guys, since i am using dashsoft for coding the car, after coding the digital speedo, it seems that the digital speedo comes 1second later than the analog speedo, and also when setting the cruise, the pointer shows the speed lower than actual speed. on the other hand after enabling the video on the move, there number 3 appeared on the bottom of the mmi, is there a way to clean it? also when changing channels there seems to have a light yellow tranparent rectange on the screen with a picture behind for a moment then when channel appears it dissappears, this happen changing channels. is there a way to clean that also? thx for your replies.
