03 745Li thinking of buying

is this a good car and price? 21k$ with 71k miles i think there asking a little to much for such an old car but i do love this body style is this a good and reliable car?

i would be trading in a 2011 prius to get this car

what things should i check for to make sure its all safe and not going to break down or anything so what should i check for while i test drive the car?

how can i check for Logic 7 system?

is it possible to add a iPhone 4S to the car without the crappy fm TM

it looks like it has bluetooth can u just stream bluetooth audio?

http://www.autoxchangeinc.com/newand...W-7Series.aspx

hows the car on gas? i do a lot of city driving and there is not much highways in hawaii... i dont drive a lot which is why i want to get rid of my prius and get some luxury while i drive...

sorry if its a long post... i always been intersted in this car for a long time but i see a lot of problem threads and those scare me about this car...

wow way over priced. way way. im selling my 02 with 119k miles for 10k. im betting its worth 16k tops. id stay away especially with the miles already high. if it was an 04 with 40k miles or so then thats a good deal... but not this man. keep your prius or get a newer accord.

In Hawaii your choices are fairly limited unless you can transport a car to hawaii and find a really good deal in the states. Avoid the 2002's and 2003's; they were so problematic that BMW extended the warranty to 7 years, 100k miles from first in service date. As well you have to remember quite a bit of the tech is close to 10 years old and so are most of the parts on the car so running into issues is always a possibility.

Like I said, try looking into getting a car brought over there from the states, most 2006 750's are going for around 25K...

wow 25k for 2006 mainland is so damn cheap u all are so lucky over there....

everything seems more expensive in hawaii

is 02-03 is really that bad then i might go with that 2004.... i would rather have a more reliable car then a good looking one

OP, why not the 525? newer, good miles, and much better mpg then the v8. the mpg looks very similar on the pages but i dont see how it can really be that close, also the 5er body style had no drastic body changes up untill 2011 and the 7 changed a good bit in 06.

Hi,

I just got a 2003 745 Li on 78k miles in the UK with full BMW Service History for 4,750.00. Not sure what that is in US Dollars, but it must be less than what you are thinking of paying.

what do u think i should offer for a car like that?

both the 2003 and 2004?

2003 they want 21k with 78k miles (crazy i kno -_-)

2004 they want 22k with 78k miles...

my prius trade in i think is worth around 19k with the small body damage that it has...

thanks for all the help

I just traded my 03' with 66k mi and got 14k for my trade. I'm sure they will re-sell for 16 or 17. That is way over priced...Trust. I just got an 06' 750li for 24K with 64k mi.

Don't rule out an 03'

All over this forum you will find many people warning you to stay away from the 02' and 03' model years, however, as the owner of an 03' with a build date of October 2002 and 153,000 miles I can tell you that my 7 has been very reliable with the 2 most expensive repairs being a transmission pan with gasket and fuel pump. I drive this car about 25,000 miles a year and it drives just as good as the day i bought it. Read these forums, look for the most common problems and do a thorough inspection of the car before you buy it.

Have you tried looking for a car on the mainland that can be transported? I don't know how you go from driving a tree hugger's car to a 7 series but it is a nice change. Be aware though that this car can be expensive to repair when something does go wrong.

Next time ima lease a car its not worth financing or buying 50 to 60thousand on a car and by the time u finished paying it the car is only worth $15,000.i consider my car a total lost of money..ima get a lease you have warranty for ever and you could get a new model.
