Hi all,
Got error code p0102 MAF also the fail safe programme error code is on. X5 drives with no problems other than on a few occasions when you go to take off there is no power for a few seconds? Car drives ok when you drive the auto box in manual. What I am hoping is the MAF is the cause of the fail safe light comming on! X5 is now 8 years old with 28k on the clock. Wife only takes it to work and back. Any help would be good. ![]() Kindest regards |

Hi Tim,
My 2006 3.0d had the MAF sensor die, it put the engine into limp mode, it was still drivable but gutless if you put the foot dowwn. Read the fault code and replaces the MAF sensor and goes grate. |

I would change the mass air flow sensor, buy one from eBay in the uk cost me £25.00 so worth a gamble. It sorted my x5 out.
I am sure some BMW experts will soon post a answer to your problem. Good luck.
