hellow,great yo be here. my question is this, iwas driving yesterday indicator light came on looked like a radiator. so i checked ,it took maybe a quart. is there a problem, i smelt something burning there was some smoke coming from engine left side by heat deflector any suggestions;

Check for leaks when the engine is hot, there are a lot of plastic parts in the BMW cooling system. well known to crack/break

How old is your Z4 ? I think it's time for a new valve cover gasket. Good luck.
