Question about tachometer markings
What does BMW mean by "ready" on the tach? It looks like the ready line is at 0 rpm's.

I'm going to guess - this is a setup that is intended to let the driver know whether the engine is really "OFF" (needle at the peg) or whether it is not running because it is in the "STOP" state under the Auto Start/Stop system. If that is the case, then "ready" means that if you step on the accelerator (AT) or clutch (MT) the engine will automatically start.
