Hello All,
Have a 2011 X5 (Jan 2011 build) with approx 9000 miles on it. Had a weird engine noise with some lag issues, so, took it into my local dealership to check it out. Listening to the service adviser and comparing notes on the forums, it seems like it could be a HPFP failure, but, I have not seen too many threads with N55 HPFPs failing. I posted a video of my issue on YouTube: Any advice / suggestions? My SA has not specifically stated HPFP, but, in his description he indicated that the tranny will have to be removed and that a pump is leaking. Thanks in advance. |

Update... SA states that its not a HPFP failure, but a main line fuel pump failure??? I have no clue what that is, and, I have not yet seen the actual service paperwork... picking up the car later in the week. Any suggestions/pointers? Anyone experience this?

Hard to say..post up the part numbers and descriptions from the work order, could help others out.
I find it hard to believe a fuel pump would require tranny removal....
