Parking distance sensor—water issue
I find the PDC very handy when it comes to parking. Anyways, I noticed that wherever it rains or snows, water sticks onto all the sensors. Not really a problem…
What is a problem is the front right center sensor will go off continuous if there is water on the sensor. And it's only that sensor. Every I put water droplets on all the other sensors on my vehicle, I do not have this issue. I do not want to have to constantly jumping out of my car when it's raining or snowing just so i can dry off one malfunctioning sensor. Do I have a bad sensor or is this behavior normal? |

IMO bad sensor.
You might swap sensors (just electronically if they can't fit) to confirm the issue follows the sensor... Assume out of warranty? A

No, I'm still in warranty (close though).
The dealership says it's not an issue, which is why I'm asking here. |

Same thing on my X5. When it's raining, one of the two front sensors will trip the alarm because of water. Took it to my dealership, and they replaced the two center front sensors. Still happens. It's just something that I've learned to live with. When I'm backing out of my driveway when it's raining, I just hit the button to turn off the PDC
