Interesting color as seen on sportier M3. If my mineral white metallic ever needs major repaint, frozen gray will be a new color of choice verses impossible color match of mineral white.
Thank for your post. BTW the sales staffs at the same NV dealer were great to deal with via email during prior pre sales national search for F02.

Not sure if anyone has seen BMW's "dark chrome" wheels in person before, but I saw a different style wheel with the same finish on a 650i in person at the dealer recently and OMG(!!!); the nicest thing I have ever seen!!! Spent no less than 10 minutes just looking at the wheels. Not gaudy or flashy, as the set on this car may or may not seem, but just absolutely perfect, and it was all about the "dark chrome" finish, which this set has. I also like ferric grey; a LOT.

Like the color but didn't know you could get the f01 in that color. Saw it on the new m/5 in pics but never in person.

I've never seen it on a 7 in person, but have on a M3 at my dealer, which I liked.

I've also seen a similar color in person on a Mercedes-Benz S550 Sport in Manhattan, which Mercedes terms "Magno" instead of "Frozen". Looked very strong and tough. Can't really comment on the 7 without seeing it in person; sort of on the fence with the 7, but looks pretty good on this E-Class Coupe (thank g-d they went back to the E-Class name!). Would love to see a 7 in Frozen Black, however!

Saw an E class out in LA with that paint job and it looked even better in person than in the photos. Not sure I'd want the added responsibility of having to take care of that sort of paint job though. I'm assuming minor scratches can't just be polished out like they can on a regular clear coated paint job.

If on an F10, Frozen Dark Blue must be possible on an F01:

And wow, this Yellow - I believe to be Dakar Yellow - should be STANDARD, NOT BMW Individual for the M3:

I read somewhere on Bimmerfest that Frozen Grey is one of the more difficult colors to maintain. Is that true?

It's not. If you keep a clean car (meaning if the car has droppings you remove them), the processes are by and large the same. The biggest detraction is the added cost.

And I'm sure the paint has a clear coat like typical shiny paint does.

I think it's perception. Once we have more frozen big cars out there, it'll be almost normal. Think of big things like battleships and military cargo planes. Those have frozen paint jobs. Those would look strange with a bling paint job.

I agree, perception is key, but then again naval ships arent "luxury" cruise liners. But hey, cant please everyone so no doubt that frozen grey will appeal to a certain demographic.

I would avoid the ship metaphors since folks already like referring to the 7 as a "boat".
