Remanufactured OEM rims?

What's your thoughts? They're a fraction of the price of new or even used oem, but I'm worried I would be able to spot one that's been cracked. I'm looking for a set of 252s for my 2013. 750. Any experiences positive or negative?

Try hubcabhaven. I bought a pair of style 106 wheels for my Z4 and was quite pleased. I remember calling them the day after placing my order to correct my shipping address and the nice lady on the phone took a picture of the exact rims I was getting and emailed them to me.

Those wheels are still around today (7 yrs later). I look at this way. If it was cracked prior, it will still have to be minimal and/or in the right spot to properly weld it. The strength of a good weld job should not be underestimated. If you hit a pothole and cause a crack, it's likely it would have happened anyways.

Good luck. They have a vast inventory so I won't be surprised if you choose something other than 252's.

Try www.factorywheelwarehouse.com - I bought my 302s there and I'm happy with them - paid $126 each w/free powdercoating

BMW rims will crack, I just had my back 2 rims(20 inch) sent out for curb rash and 1 had 2 cracks and the other had 3 cracks. He welded and painted them We'll see how it last. Prior to the repair the tires never leaked air though with run flats.

Just another way to say refurbished/repaired.

They take old rims from wrecked cars and polish, paint, weld cracks, and resell them.

Wheels

After they remanufacture them, are they "round" or are you likely to buy a wheel that looks perfect but won't balance properly?

They have to be within original specs to sell them which includes balancing. I'm sure there are still hack jobs out there but overall, people are happy with them. At the least 4 or 5 I know. My experience is limited to the 1 set from hubcabhaven and those have been great.
