Internet Radio from Iphone to Bluetooth?

Question. I have a 2010 X5d with the navigation ect. A friend was telling me on his hyundai he can hit pandora on his iphone and listen to it in his car over the bluetooth connection. I asked the guy at the dealer the last time i was there if this was possible and he said no. My next thought was well if i put a bluetooth micro adapter in the usb drive in the glovebox, maybe I could play internet radio from my Iphone through that. Has anyone tried this, and if so is it complicated? Thanks

I'll try it later today but I'd think you could play any music you want over the bluetooth connection. Simply select your IPhone from the menu to stream your audio.

I confirmed in my 2011 you can stream Pandora via Bluetooth to the audio system. All info is displayed (song, artist, title). I have no idea if having the Premium Sound System makes a difference or not but I have that option in my X5

Did you have to change any settings for this? I've tried in my 2011, it shows the phone is paired already, but I get no sound. I was able to play Pandora if I connected through the USB port.

This works just fine on my 11 with nothing fancy to do. Just pair the phone and start pandora.

Thanks, I have the 2010 X5 Diesel with the premium sound, and I am thinking maybe there is a difference. What exactly do you do? Do you put it on CD and then just hit play on your iphone?

If you have the CIC iDrive with the combox, you can do it.

You have to select the the paired phone, hit the options button, then click on configure phone. From there you can select bluetooth phone and or audio. After you select audio, go to the phone and open pandora. That should do it. My fiancées 2010 X6 does not have Bluetooth audio but my F12 does and this is how I got it to work.

Thanks, that worked! Surprisingly, it sounds better via Bluetooth than Pandora via the USB connection, tho not as good as a CD or my iPod (which has all WAV files, CD quality). Think I'm going to call Sirius this week and cancel!

No problem. The manual is not good at explaining this function. I actually got the instructions from the video posted above many weeks ago. I didn't realize it was the same video until I clicked it a minute ago

2010 x5

For people with 2010 x5? Can this be upgraded to get bluetooth streaming? I am thinking by idrive software update. Sure will like to have it. I do not have navigation.

Thanks

I'd guess the answer to this is: No.

Reason I say that is because I had my 2010 x5d in for some other work last month and it got put on the rack and got all of it's iDrive SW updated (I was having a BMW iPod integration kit installed) and I too wondered if by chance it was just a "SW thing". No luck.

Thank you. Too bad we cannot get it.
