Get some wax on the wheels. It helps a little.

The wheels get dusty faster than the car gets dirty. I use Hozelock portashower to spot clean the wheels. I don't know if they are sold in the US.

collinite 845 for the wheels...two coats 12 hours apart.....spray/wipe with alcohol/water first to get a clean surface so the collinite can cross-link...

Collinite 845 is a great wax, but the problem with it and all carnauba waxes is that they don't hold up in heat heat applications, such as car wheels. They just melt off. That's why synthetics are more long-lasting. At least that's been my experience and what I've read. I know everyone has there favorite things when it comes to detailing; I've had a lot of success with Klasse products, particularly Klasse SG for wheels.

I don't see a wheel really getting hot , collonite worked for me for years . I suggested it as its more well known.however a better choice recently seems to be polymers. The two that I really like are ultimate paint guard or Rejex.

Congrats on your new Z4. I have 2 2011 BMWs and brake dust is no longer a problem, haven't seen any. It used to be a nightmare. I think they went to a ceramic pad or something.

Agree with mclaren, the brake dust on my Z4 is SO much better than the brake dust on my E46

Think I would go with the 35i for more HP/Torque. Would love the 35is but thats a little out of my price range. Decisions decisions.

As a direct counter-point to POST #2 - The DCT is an awesome transmission of you want the flexibility of having a manual transmission with no clutch pedal, and with the added convenience of driving it in "automatic mode" when the situation dictates. Even at that the DCT blows away any "Manumatic".

It is also an awesome transmission if you want smooth shifts, in a matter milliseconds.

If youy want an automatic, that is not available for the 35i
