HELP! will a alternator from 2011 BMW X5 35SI work in 2008 BMW X5 3.0SI?

hi guys,

i got the "High Battery Drain" warning few months ago from my 2008 BMW X5 3.0si with 60k miles (i know a lot of ppl are getting this)

today, i went to the mechanic shop and taking a inspection, the result is: i need to replace a alternator!

i have a few choice that i can do:
1. get it from the dealer, the dealer told me it'll cost $1300 CAD+13% taxes
2. get it from bimmerspecialist for 680 + shipping
3. the mechanic shop said they can rebuild it, they need 2 hrs works ($75 CDN per hour) + 200+ parts
4. i can get it from ebay, currently i found 2 ppl on ebay selling the alternator

i think i'll go with option 3 and 4
i found i ppl on ebay selling an alternator from a X3 with 82k miles on it, they say it'll work on a 2008 BMW X5 3.0si, it costs $145+$40 shipping

link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Alternator-BM...item2c61ee2d66

and the other guy selling an alternator comes from a 20k miles 2011 BMW E70 X5 3.5 M SPORTS (i think it is a 2011 BMW X5 35si??)
PART NUMBER:7803724A102 7803724 A102
i'm not sure if it'll work on my 2008 X5 3.0si??

link: http://www.ebay.ca/itm/BMW-X5-E70-20...item27c25c21b5

i'm not sure what i should do. should i let the mechanic rebuild my alternator or just buy it from ebay?

the seller said the one that comes with the 82k miles X3 will work for my x5 but can you guys comfirm this? if it works will it fail easily in a few years?

and will the alternator from 2011 x5 35si will work for my 2008 X5?

thank you guys!

Between options three and four I would go with three. A rebuilt alternator should be as good as new. The Ebay alternators will be used and they could soon fail. Also the mechanic may offer some sort of warranty on their rebuild work. If you trust the mechanic I would choose to rebuild.
