2010 Nav DVD and Ipod/MP3 interface for a 04' 645ci
I'm thinking of adding if possible a iPod/MP3 interface on a 2004 645ci. Do you have any suggestions on what I should do? Also, can a 2010 Navi DVD work as well with my car?
Thanks, Lawrence

There's a number of options for the iPod integration for your e63. A quick search will reveal lots of DIY articles on retrofitting the various solutions. Search for e60 (5 Series) rather than e63/64 (6 Series) as it will yield far more results, the options are identical.
I went with the Dension Gateway 500, it is pretty good & it also takes a USB conection too, so a memory stick or portable hard drive will work with the kit too. In fact I use the USB more than the iPod side of things now. You use the iDrive to control the whole thing. I have my USB portable HD & iPod tucked away in where the CD changer used to be out of sight. - Dension Gateway 500 - BMW's own kit, Part number: 65 41 2 160 344 - X Carlink The first two need to be coded to the car, not a big job really if you have someone who knows what they are doing (I coded my own car). The XCarLink has some nice features (e.g. reverse camera retrofit) but the control of the iPod is not done through the iDrive. |
