The bolsters are adjustable with the sport seats. I found the side bolsters to be much wider in the F30 than the '10 E90 and my Porsche 911 seats.

Also, for a seating position slid back to the stop do you anticipate that the B pillar will intrude on shoulder space? Is the foot well area wide (I felt the e90 was a bit cramped on the right side in this regard).

I can't understand why you in the US pay so little for a European car. I'm paying $51,000 USD for my F30 sport line 320d with 17inch wheels and halogen lights, my only real upgrade was the HK sound system and automatic transmission. And that on top of $9.5 USD / gallon for fuel.

So unfair

How much did you have to pay for the automatic transmission? Here in the US, auto is standard and manual is a no-cost option.

Automatic transmission option is £1,525 (about $2,400) and sport automatic transmission a little more at £1,660.

My company provides the funding for this car (which is probably the case for most 3 series ordered in the UK) and we get personally taxed on an element of the CO2 emissions the car emits... so the cleaner the car the less tax I pay .... and fortunately the auto box produces less CO2 then the manual.

In the UK 95% of all cars are typically ordered with manual transmission, it is considered quite extravagant (and lazy I suppose) to order an automatic car in the mid-range market such as 3 series or Audi A4 etc, of course at the luxury end such as large Mercedes and 6 and 7 series BMW they are always found with automatic transmission.

I guess in the US, even those that buy the manual transmission are paying for the auto anyway.

Just out of curiosity--why on earth would anybody want a mechanical parking brake? Seems a button would be easier to use and take up a lot less space.

Seems like pop-up headlights to me. Adds cost and it's just one more thing that can fail.
