Are you able to track your build? Let us know how it is progressing. I read in the forums that the best method to track is using the 800-831-1117 number and not the website.

Build Status Update:

In production at BodyShop...Completion 4.2.2012.

In the Paint Shop...right on schedule...Out of the Paint Shop tomorrow

I am on the same schedule.. my X5 is also in the paint shop today! Do you have a delivery date? I am trying for PCD but they can't schedule because of EPA hold on the new model year.

SA called...My X5 is done and at the Processing Center...Should be here in a "few" days.

Current Status:

Vehicle released to Carrier

I tried the 800 number over the weekend - the computer said my vehicle was done and waiting for transit or something like that. I had asked for PCD; from what I've read on other posts none of the X5s can be "released" because they're considered a new model and have to be checked by the EPA first. On the web BMWUSA does have that the vehicle exists (with my production number) under"add new vehicle" - asked for date of purchase and mileage, so I left that blank since I did not want them to start the warranty countdown until I had posession.

Mine is now in the Body shop, estimated completion is April 9th

I don't think they can start the warranty countdown before you have the vehicle in your possession. I had trouble tracking using Production number. My CA sent me the VIN number and I was able to add it using my VIN.

I wouldn't assume anything

You guys that are taking delivery in the next few days, could you comment on what type of tires you recieved along with your rim size and sport/non sport?

According to TireRack there are 4 different types for a X5 35i premium with tire Size: 255/50R19

Bridgestone Dueler H/L 400 RFT

Will do...What do you consider to be the best tire out of the tires you listed?

According to tirerack, Bridgestone Dueler has the worst reviews.. They mention that the tires are not great in snow or wet roads.
The other 3 are average.

I wasn't excited about my bridgestones when it showed up, but I have no complaints about the wet or snow (what limited we got this year) performance.

They are quiet as well.

Hi dme369,

Did you pick up your X5? My status says released to carrier. How long did it take from that status to getting to the dealer for you? I am hoping it would get there next week sometime and I can pickup the following week.

I second this. I have the Duelers for 16,500 miles so far and I have been please with dry, wet, and snow traction as well as road noise.

The tread also appears to be holding up well.

I've liked them enough that I wouldn't have an issue replacing them with an identical set if I have to before the lease ends.

Bump... looking for any updates on members that took delivery of their 2013?

I don't believe anyone has taken delivery yet; they are still on EPA hold for the moment.

FYI - According to a dealer board sponsor "the chrome line exterior trim as they are not building any in April/early May with it due to a production shortage ($100 cheaper)."

I wonder what type of trim will be used?

Shadowline is the closest in price, I wouldn't think they'd go with the matte aluminum.

Dealer now shows ETA as April 16th
