E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135.

Question Navigation

Hello friends.

I just bought a BMW 135i here in Brazil.
I have doubts about the navigation system because it came without the DVD with the maps.

Anyone know where I get this DVD with maps of Brazil?

Thank you.

Did you try your local dealership parts department?

It may be that there isn't a DVD; rather, the dealer needed to enter a special code in the navigation system. [This was the case for my `11 750i.] Either way, you need to take the car back to your dealer and have them sort out the problem.

I don't know about Brazil, but the only Nav system available anymore in the US is hard disk based - there's not typically a DVD, unless you're doing an update.

Are you not seeing your local streets? What does the dealer think?

My 08 135i uses DVD based navigation, not HDD. I just bought the 2012 set for ~$200.

Right, the switchover to hard disc based nav (really, a new version of iDrive - nicer screen, rips MP3s to the hard drive, improved UI, etc) was the 2009 model year.

I got the impression Marcelo bought a new car, which (at least in the US) would mean the new iDrive. Though I've heard in Europe there's a lower level nav package that isn't hard drive based, so I don't know what's available in Brazil. Also, if he bought used, he could certainly have a 2008 or earlier.
