Subwoofer Solutions for e36 Convertible
So I had an aftermarket amp and new speakers installed in the stock locations in my e36 vert, and as predicted the bass is underwhelming.
Does anyone have any experience with subs in verts? I've seen a number of posts, but none reflecting the minimal level of modifications Im willing to do. I plan on bridging an Alpine MRP F300 4 channel amp to install an 8 or 10 inch sub. A couple of questions: Would a square 10" kicker sub fit right in the ski pass directly without baffle or box? Would this sound like garbage? Would ANY 10" round sub fit in a box in the ski pass? Would the 150-200 watts RMS Im going to get out of the alpine amp seriously restrict my ability to power any 10 inch sub? I'm pretty sure I can get an 8" sub box on ebay UK or from a different website that will fit right in the skipass, but if I could trade off the investment in the box and 8" sub for a baffle-like install using a 10inch square kicker, I would consider just going that route. Thanks. |
