E82 / E88 1 Series (2008 - 2013)
BMWs throw back to the iconic 2002, with a renewed form and function. The smallest car in BMW's line up but still packs a punch. Available in coupe or convertible, powered by either an inline 6 in the 128 or the twin turbo rocket sled 135. |

If the car has ever overheated due to low coolant or a failed water pump, then a blown head gasket is quite likely (as well as a warped cylinder head), otherwise, that is rare.

Does seem odd. At least it's under warranty and you don't have to suffer the indignities of the HPFP fiasco.

128i or 135i? If 135i, chipped? The turbo places more stress on the head gasket. Raising the boost pressure with a chip further increases the stress. If it is a 128i and wasn't overheated, it does appear odd.
