TV in 2012 328i?

I read the UK brocure on the 2012 BMW 328i, and there was a mention of "TV function". Any idea if that is offered in the US? If not, why not?

DVD movies are supported

DVD movies are supported in the 2012 328i. The picture turns off when the car is driving, and only the sound is available. I assume the TV function in the UK is similar.

Anyone know if the US supports it?

DVD movie is supported on my 2011 335d while the car is parked. Are you trying to watch TV while driving?

I'd like to watch TV audio and video when parked, and listen to TV audio only while driving.

iPad

I thought about it, and it is cheaper and easier to just use my iPad to watch TV (and Youtube, Netflix, etc.) while parked or driving (audio only using blue tooth audio). Built in is nice, but using the iPad it is much easier to upgrade the hardware as it improves over time.

Similar comment for Google in the car. Better to just use the iPad.
