Because it is redundant of what's stated in the links on the front page. If someone doesn't read what the Fest is all about before signing up and creating their first post, they sure won't read a thread in their appropriate forum (this is assuming that they actually find the right forum).
Dumb posts from newbies will happen no matter what. No point in clogging up the forum with stickies that aren't effective.

Hell it's worth it. This forum has more one time posters than any other site I've seen. Don't know why you should care how many stickies there are. Omg five stickies, the e36 has eight....

It has helped immensly in the E30 forum where it is the exact same thread. who reads the user agreement for anything important, let alone for Bimmerfest?

It is surprising that even people with thousands of posts need to be reminded of basic courtesies, when their problem has received attention, interest, discussion and ultimately the correct solution from the forum. Perhaps in future they should take their car to a mechanic.

just out of curiosity .... the forum says E34 (1989 - 1995) but the E34 was first built in 1988 .... mine is actually 1988 ...
i guess in USA they started selling the E34 only in 1989
